I work on abandoned paintings, entering what is already there and shifting it.

Here, I intervene on a floral still life.
A key appears inside the composition.
Eyes open within the flowers.
A ribbon moves across the surface, carrying a sentence.

The image is built around that phrase —
not as a statement, but as something repeated, almost insisted.

The key is already turned.

About the original

The painting was found in a small family-run art shop in Lisbon. It was tucked away, almost hidden, forgotten in a corner of the shop. There’s a signature on the original painting, but it’s difficult to decipher,and no certificate was available.

Drawn to its atmosphere immediately, I chose to intervene gently, allowing its original presence to continue while opening it to a new symbolic dimension.

🧡 About the Surface

This is an upcycled original, painted over a vintage artwork.

You may notice gentle texture and tiny surface cracks beneath the gloss finish—these are preserved intentionally. They are reminders of the painting’s past life and are part of its character and soul.
